THREADED STEMS: Threaded stems are for
SWIVEL casters only. Rigid casters can be modified by special
order only. We stock 3/4"-10x1-1/2" in stock. Call for pricing.BRAKES: A brake locks the wheel from rolling. They are usually mounted to the swivel. We have 3 types of brakes in stock.
Side Locking Brake. This brake is mounted on the side of the caster and simply “pinches” the legs of the caster against the hub of the wheel using a cam type action. Ideal for steel wheels or phenolic wheels. This brake can also be mounted to a rigid caster. Effective. Inexpensive.
Top Locking Brake or otherwise known as a “tread lock brake”. This brake is mounted as an intricate part of a
swivel caster. A very effective means for
braking the wheel. When the wing pedal is activated a “shoe” is pulled against the top of the wheel creating a positive lock. Very Effective. Cost efficient.
Total Lock Brake. This brake locks the wheel and the swivel at the same time. Also an intricate
part of the swivel caster. Usually a pedal on top of the wheel activates this brake. An extremely effective means for braking the caster from rolling. If you need absolute stopping ability, this is your brake.
Swivel Locks: This devise locks a swiveling caster and converts the caster to a fixed position or “rigid” caster. A spring plunger pin locks the swivel in either of 4 positions when activated. Effective and inexpensive.

Top Locking Brake: Add -TLB to swivel part number. Add $ 10.00 to
SWIVEL caster price.
Total Lock Brake: Add -TTL to
SWIVEL part number. Add $
